Je m'appelle Vincent Trottain, maintenant 39 ans et j'ai toujours eu deux passions dans ma vie : le Sport Auto et la Photographie.
La passion du Sport Auto est présente dans ma famille depuis trois générations. Mon grand-père paternel et mon père ont toujours été accompagnés par la douce mélodie des moteurs durant la période de Juin et c'est désormais à mon tour de faire perdurer cette flamme en prenant part à ce spectacle hors normes via mon activité de photographe.
La passion pour la Photographie, quant à elle, est née en moi il y a quelques années de cela, avec pour principale motivation capturer et partager des moments d'exception.

My name is Vincent Trottain, I'm 39 years old and I've always had two great passions in life : Motorsport and Photography.
Motorsport has been a part of my family for three generations. My paternal grandfather and my father were always accompanied by the sweet sound of engines during the month of June (you know, the 24 Hours of Le Mans!), and now it’s my turn to keep that flame alive by participating in this extraordinary spectacle through my work as a photographer.
As for Photography, that passion was born in me few years ago, driven by the desire to capture and share exceptional moments. There’s something magical about freezing a fleeting instant in time : whether it’s the thrill of a race, the quiet beauty of nature or the intense emotion in a person’s eyes. And while some people collect stamps, I collect moments.
I like to think of my camera as a time machine, able to freeze a moment that otherwise would have slipped away unnoticed. But unlike a time machine, my photos can be shared — no DeLorean required! :)

Effectivement, la marque PENTAX représente la totalité de mon matériel.
En terme de boîtiers, j'affectionne tout particulièrement la vitesse et la performance globale du K-3 Mark III ; quant au K-1 Mark II, il s'agit d'un superbe Full Frame permettant de capturer des images jusqu'au plus petit des détails (grâce à son capteur de 36,4 Mpx).
Concernant les objectifs, je ne me sépare jamais du 50mm f/1,4 (bokeh sans commune mesure avec une grande qualité d'image dès la pleine ouverture), du 15-30mm f/2,8 (un UGA qui me convient parfaitement avec très peu de distorsion) et enfin du 150-450mm f/2,8 (télé-zoom indispensable et de superbe qualité).

Indeed, all of my equipment is from the PENTAX brand, which has always been my preferred choice for capturing high-quality images.
When it comes to cameras, I particularly appreciate the speed and overall performance of the K-3 Mark III. This DSLR is a powerhouse, offering fast autofocus and excellent image stabilization, making it ideal for high-speed photography and capturing those fleeting moments in motorsport. Its rugged build quality and weather-sealing also make it incredibly reliable in harsh conditions, which is crucial for events like the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
On the other hand, the K-1 Mark II is a truly exceptional Full Frame camera. With its 36.4 megapixel sensor, it allows me to capture incredibly detailed images, even in the most challenging light conditions. The dynamic range of this camera is remarkable, ensuring that I can bring out the finest details in both the highlights and shadows.
As for lenses, I never leave home without my 50mm f/1.4. This lens is a true gem for portraiture and low-light situations, offering an extraordinary bokeh and exceptional image quality even at wide apertures. It allows me to create stunning, cinematic shots that highlight the subject while blurring the background beautifully.
The 15-30mm f/2.8 is my go-to ultra-wide-angle lens. It’s the perfect companion for capturing dramatic perspectives, especially in tight spaces like pit lanes or the paddock. With minimal distortion, this lens allows me to create crisp, wide shots that truly convey the scale and energy of the racing environment.
Lastly, the 150-450mm f/2.8 is an essential part of my gear. This telephoto zoom lens is perfect for capturing the action at a distance, especially when photographing fast-moving vehicles on the track. Its fast aperture and exceptional image quality allow me to produce sharp, vibrant shots, even from far away.
Together, these PENTAX cameras and lenses form the backbone of my photography, allowing me to capture the beauty, power, and emotion of motorsport from every angle.

La photographie constitue bien plus qu’un simple complément à mon activité dans le sport automobile : elle est au cœur de ma démarche de création et de narration visuelle.
Membre actif d’un club photo, je mets un point d’honneur à développer mes compétences techniques et mon regard artistique grâce aux échanges, aux ateliers et aux projets collectifs.
Ces engagements m’ont permis de participer à plusieurs expositions, véritables opportunités pour confronter mon travail à un public varié et pour affirmer ma démarche photographique.
Cette section met en lumière mon investissement dans la photographie : elle retrace mes participations, mes expériences et mettra, à terme, en avant les reprises ou sélections de mes images par des médias, des pilotes ou des constructeurs.
Plus qu’une passion, la photographie est pour moi un levier professionnel essentiel : raconter, illustrer et valoriser le sport automobile avec exigence et authenticité.

Photography isn’t just a nice extra in my motorsport journey : it’s at the very heart of how I create and tell stories. As an active member of a local photo club, I’m constantly honing both my technical skills and my creative eye through workshops, group projects and lively exchanges with fellow photographers. These experiences have given me the chance to take part in several exhibitions : fantastic opportunities to showcase my work to a diverse audience and to strengthen my own artistic approach.
This section highlights my commitment to photography : it traces my participations and experiences and will eventually feature media, drivers, or manufacturers who have shared or selected my images.
More than a passion, photography is a key professional tool for me : to tell stories, to illustrate and to capture the spirit of motorsport with authenticity and a keen eye for detail.
